A very small data workshop in Bowie, MD

By Next Quarter, Your Spreadsheet Guilt Will Be Ancient History

Jorvella exists because small stores deserve the same clear numbers big ones buy with whole analytics departments. We do it with fixed scopes, plain English and a front porch light that is, on weekdays, genuinely on.

01How We Got Here

We Started With A Store Owner And Twelve Browser Tabs

The origin story is unglamorous. A friend with a subscription tea shop asked which ad channel was actually bringing back repeat buyers. Answering took a weekend, three exports, and one deeply suspicious pivot table that counted refunds as revenue.

Fixing it took a lot less than the big agencies quoted. A clean pipe from Shopify, Stripe and the ad accounts, one reconciled dashboard, and a cohort chart that finally showed who stuck around. Jorvella is that weekend, repeated for other stores, minus the pivot table.

We stay small on purpose. The person who scopes your project is the person who reads your cohorts, which keeps the readout honest and the invoice to a single line.

02House Rules

Four Rules We Tape To The Monitor

Not a mission statement. A short list of things we would rather you hold us to.

  • I.

    Name the metric in English

Every number on your dashboard ships with a one-line definition a new hire could read. “Blended CAC” means something specific, and we write down exactly what.

  • II.

    Check it against the bank

Before a chart goes live, we reconcile its totals against your Stripe payouts. If the dashboard and the deposit disagree, the dashboard loses.

  • III.

    Price it before we start

Fixed scope, fixed fee, one invoice. If we guess wrong about how tangled your data is, that is our problem, not a line item.

  • IV.

Leave the keys on the table

Logins, documentation and a recorded walkthrough are yours at handover. You can fire us on day fifteen and keep every chart.

03A Tuesday At The Workshop

What The Porch-Light Hours Actually Look Like

We are open Monday to Friday, 10am to 4:30pm, with evenings by appointment for owners who are busy shipping boxes all day. A typical Tuesday goes roughly like this.

10:00

Phones, then pipes

Morning calls with new store owners, then connection work: API keys, customer ID matching, retiring duplicates.

1:00

Reconciliation hour

Dashboard totals versus payout reports, line by line, until the two agree to the cent.

3:30

Cohort reading

Retention curves by channel and month, plus a short list of what to try on Monday morning.

04Fit Check

Who We’re Built For, And Who Should Look Elsewhere

Better to find out on page two than on a Zoom call.

Good fit

You’ll probably like us if…

  • You sell on Shopify and take payments through Stripe
  • You run paid ads on at least one platform and can’t say what a repeat customer is worth
  • You offer subscriptions and want to know where churn comes from
  • You prefer one price and a clear end date
Probably not

You’ll want someone else if…

  • You need a full-time in-house analytics team
  • You want a data warehouse with a dozen engineers behind it
  • Your stack is mostly brick-and-mortar point-of-sale systems
  • You’re hoping for an open-ended hourly retainer
